And now that he's back, we got Faber's opinion on one of the hot topics being discussed in the public: the Marijuana Referendum
He explained that he hasn't been a part of any discussions with the members of his party as yet:
Hon. Patrick Faber, UDP Area Rep., Collet
"I don't know what discussions we've had outside of when I was in cabinet and ofcourse the UDP administration pushed it. I have not been a part of the shadow cabinet and we certainly have not discussed it at the party level. Let me put it this way: I have not been a part of any discussions at the party level so that I'm not privy to understand what the party is thinking, but while there are various sides to this issue and ofcourse the church is strongly making its case one side and those who want full liberation for marijuana are pushing on the other side, I think the process of taking it to the referendum so the people decide is really ought to be the case and if we are going to give people the right to make a vote in a referendum, then it is my position as well that all of us who are parliamentarians and citizens are first should have the right to make our own determination as well."
