Last week Tuesday, the UDP held an illegal protest, but while they may have been expecting resistance or some kind of fireworks, it was peaceful. That's because the ComPol told his officers to ensure everything was kept orderly, but not to interfere.

But the ComPol didn't want the protest to happen in the first place - in fact, the UDP was denied twice. Chairman Michael Peyrefitte claimed that it was a suppression of their right to assemble. The ComPol, however, had a different explanation.

And we also asked the ComPol about huge changes coming to the department. Despite ACP Howell Gillett taking over as OC of the largest division in in March, he's about to be moved to Community Policing.

Not only is it a major demotion, but it's ACP Gillett's fifth transfer since Williams has been the commissioner.

But the ComPol doesn't see it that way - he explained that he believes Gillett's talents are best used in Community Police and that Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero would be better suited as OC Eastern Division.

And he told us that these changes are a result of DCP Dezerie Magdaleno's imminent retirement.
