And while the two could apparently disagree agreeably last night - the fact is that Barrow will fight the lawsuits in court because he believes there have been missteps in the issuance of gun licenses. Barrow claims licenses have been issued to persons with criminal records. We asked if that included him:
Jules Vasquez
"In your attorney's letter to Mr. Williams, you pointed out that he shouldn't give license to people with criminal records and he would say well I gave you one and you have a criminal record, not in this country, but you have a criminal record."

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"That's a key point. I have never been convicted in Belize. I've never been arrested in Belize. At the time that Commissioner Whylie gave me the licensed and every time subsequent that Commissioner Williams renewed my licensed, I was under no suspicion of any criminal activity and everyone can agree that I have live a law abiding life. The one incident that I've ever been arrested and charged and convicted for was an incident in which I was defending myself."
"What I have a problem with is people paying the police for licensed."
