The usually quiet town of San Ignacio was heating up Tuesday night after four UDP banners were replaced with PUP ones.

According to the town's mayor, their party's banners were taken down on the instruction of the PUP's mayoral candidate Matthew Preston. The UDP has labelled this incident as vandalism and Mayor Earl Trapp is hoping the police can intervene before the situation gets violent.

He told us more via Zoom yesterday.

And today we reached out to Preston for a comment. He told us that he isn't involved in that sort of dirty politics, and the accusations, which he claims are unfounded, must be because he is doing something right. He also said that he doesn't believe in vandalism and this is an attempt at defaming him.
