Last night on Uncut - Mayor Bernard Wagner appeared for the first time - to make the final major accounting of his second term in office.
And while he's made a strong bid for a third term - will he stay the course, or will he bail on the highest municipal office in time for the 2025 general election?
That's what Jules Vasquez asked him last night:
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City
"I don't know what the future holds for me Jules, I really don't know. I know I have a job at hand as the sapiring mayor to lead the city. I don't know what the future holds I just always leave it up into gods hand to direct everything, direct my path so to speak."
Jules Vasquez:
"But you are asking voters to give you three more years but are you being honest with them mayor? because If god tell you to seek national office in 2025."
"I listen to God"
Jules Vasquez:
"But you are asking the voters to listen to you"
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City "But I always ensure I listen to God"
Jules Vasquez:
"Are you interested in the Collet Constituency"
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City
"I can't say yes nor can I say No I know that as I sit here today my only concentration is the city council election which will be next week wednesday. My only concentration is ensuring our team is fit and ready. We never underestimate out opponent we have to always make sure that we put in the work. control what you can control and let the chips fall in palace where they should fall.
