And the PM also reportedly has stress with Minister of Agriculture Jose Mai. He was recently shuffled out of the Ministry of Enterprise which presides over Free Zones - but today his Agriculture Ministry came under heavy scrutiny when this invoice was leaked.

It shows the Ministry receiving a quotation dated November 12 for two bulletproof vests from S&B Armoury, a firearm retailer in Belize City. The two vests are priced at seven thousand dollars.

There has been speculation that the vests might have been for Minister Mai based on the current state of cartel activity in the Corozal Free Zone - but today his CEO, Servulo Baeza flatly denied that.

Baeza told us via phone that the invoice came out of a preliminary inquiry from the Belize Marketing Development Corporation in Orange Walk after it was robbed at gunpoint one week ago.

He stresses that it was only an inquiry and there has been no purchase order issued and no permit applied for.

Also of note in the Ministry of Agriculture is that since the shuffle was announced on Tuesday, the Supplies Control Office and the Bureau of Standards were stripped out of the Enterprise portfolio and will remain with agriculture.
