There's a little over 2 weeks left until the UDP's Leadership Convention and so far, only Tracy Panton has put her name in for the vacant party leader post.
So, she is expected to be endorsed with majority support from the caretakers and area reps. Today she told us more about the slate she's taking into the convention.
Tracy Panton, Leader of the Opposition
"Now we are in campaign mode, as you can imagine. It is my intention to visit all 31 constituencies leading up to the National Leadership Convention on November 30th. My slate includes the first deputy leader, the Honorable Hugo Patt, second deputy leader, the Honorable Miguel Guerra from Cayo, the chairperson, Honorable Senator Sheena Pitts, and our vice chairperson will come from the south and we are about to confirm that person to be a part of the slate before the end of this week."
"I believe that I have overwhelming support to take on the leadership of the United Democratic Party at this time. It is my intention to be inclusive, to ensure that we take on board all the concerns of all my colleagues."
"We can agree to disagree, but we have a bigger mission ahead of us and we're all committed to that cause. I don't believe that I will be challenged. In fact, I will be endorsed as the leader, as the next leader of the United Democratic Party."
The deadline for applications to fill executive posts is November 20th.
