Back in March the Essential Services Arbitration Tribunal known as ESAT had dismissed the case following the Christian Workers Union's refusal to sign a revised confidentiality agreement.
The ESAT is also in the process of finding a new chairperson after the recently appointed one resigned due to a possible conflict of interest, The Minister of labor gave us more details on the current status of the ESAT.
Kareem Musa, Minister of Labour
"As I mentioned earlier in my presentation about a month and a half ago the newly appointed chair of the ESAT, Mr Leroy Banner who had accepted the post went into the post, he is an attorney as you know but unfortunately at his first meeting he uncovered that there would be a conflict of interest. I don't know if he represents some of the employees over at the CWU so he had to recuse himself after that. He sent a letter recusing himself and so now we are in the process of selecting a new one which I am saying that within 2 weeks we will have a replacement."
"The previous chair prior to the appointment of Mr Leroy banner had resigned upon the appointment of a new minister. As you know the former minister was Hon Florencio Marin, and so with the new appointment he had resigned."
