And while Broaster is giving a subsidy, tonight the Caye Caulker Village Council is losing patience with Belmopan because work has not resumed on the island police station. Two weeks ago the area rep Andre Perez said that work would resume immediately after the village council had effectively blocked plans to sell parcel 815 to a private developer. But nothing has happened, and the construction site remains inactive.

Today, the village council posted an update suggesting they are getting ready for round two of their agitation. The post says quote, "to date we have gotten no other commitments from our Area Representative or the Minister of Police. We are reconvening tonight and will keep you up to date."
