And while the political games are sure to continue right up until next year's municipal election, the real game would be a contested mayoral convention.
Three names are being floated in the blue tent, but Miller - who is the only mayoral hopeful that has declared his interest - says that he isn't looking for beef wiht any of his PUP colleagues:

"I could tell you I am the least hostile person you will ever meet. You stated earlier that of my interest, yes, I do have interest, and that is my plan. I do plan on participating in the process that has been agreed upon by the People's United Party. But just like myself, Councillor Pollard, and even city administrator Pitts, just like any other resident of the city, they have the ability to go through this process as well or to seek mayoral candidacy as well. And I remain fully respectful of that. I am not asking for anything to be given to me. I am prepared to participate in the clearly defined and established process, a process that I have participated in before, and so I remain prepared for that."
"In terms of division within the council, there is absolutely none. And that is exactly the reason why such statements come out, because they are trying to cause division. We remain a united council. In fact, we have said time and time again, and not just myself or Mayor Wagner, but even our colleagues, we have said time and time again that this is the most united city council team that we have seen in the past decade. Right? There is absolutely no friction within the council. That is a narrative that is trying to be created to create a perception that there is division within the council. But we remain a united team. And today is just another commitment that we are focused, another show that we are focused on the work that we have to do for the remainder of this term."
"We remain engaged, Marisol. We continue to have full participation in our monthly council meetings, in our committee meetings. I engage with our council members on a day-to-day basis. There is absolutely no contention within the Belize City Council.
