Marion Jones Loses Bid for Spot in Olympic 100 meter

She won 5 medals in Sydney but Marion Jones will not get a chance to defend at least one of those medals in Athens next month.

On Saturday at the U.S. trials Marion failed to qualify in the 100-meter Olympic track and field. She placed fifth in the race in a time of 11.14 seconds. Jones next chance for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team will be this weekend at the trials for the 200-meter sprint. But sports pundits say Marion's best chance for a spot on the team will be in the long jump competition which she has dominated so far this year. Of course, if she really want to run the hundred, she could always put a Belize flag on her back, and we promise, no one here would mind even a bit.
