Andre Perez is currently out of the country and scheduled to return tomorrow. But in his absence, he has a representative filling in, and today we asked Ricardo Martin how the Minister is guiding him from afar.
Ricardo Marin, Representative, Andre Perez
"His direct instruction is to make get San Pedro and Caye Caulker prepared in the event we have storm conditions. Um, as the mayor rightfully said, there's a lot of preparations going on right now. Um, clean ups, debris, um, construction work, but we have stakes and so forth."
"We're encouraging everyone to get them secured. Um, so our main work right now is to get San Pedro prepared, um, encourage people to leave. Um, we know that it poses a challenge, especially people that do have to work, but, um, the encouragement is there for them to move on."

"He has been in contact contact with us, um, and kind of like on a 24 hour basis. Um, we do speak on the telephone, um, messages as needed. Um, as a matter of fact, right now we have to go and address Caye Caulker."
"So we'll be there in just a few because that's also part of his constituency and it's also very vulnerable in these conditions."
