After a strong threat from Justice Troadio Gonzalez, yesterday the DPP's office proceeded with the murder trial of Clifford Hyde and Tyrone Smith.
On Wednesday the judge threatened to throw out the murder case against Hyde and Smith along with a separate murder case against Aaron Usher if prosecutors weren't prepared. It was a very real threat along with possible public embarrassment and sure enough Hyde and Smith's murder trial began. Both men are on trial for the February 8th 2002 murder of Derry Bennet in Roaring Creek Village.
Aaron Usher meanwhile is to stand trial for the April 28th, 2003 murder of Dwayne Lemmot.
