You may still be living in fear, but the Police Department says crime is down.

If you find that pill hard to swallow, so did Alfonso Noble and today he put that question to the second in charge of the Patrol Branch, Chester Williams who says that police are rolling hard on the street.

Inspector Chester Williams, Patrol Branch
"I am very happy to say that at this point in time we have been doing good in terms of the fight against crime. We at patrol branch being the first response to any major incident and likewise responsible to prevent crimes through the effort of preventable patrols, we have been stepping up efforts on our mobile patrols, likewise our foot, and we have also created a bicycle patrol which is used to go into the known hot spots in order to neutralize crimes in those areas. At present our main areas of concern are the Caribbean Shores area where the issue of burglaries and theft from and of motor vehicles and likewise you have the banks and the gas stations in that particular area; we also have the areas of St. Martin and Port Loyola where shootings have become prevalent over the past few weeks but since those incidents we have increased our mobile and foot patrols and it has created a decrease in these types of incidents. I honestly believe that it is indeed a part of the preventative measures because criminals at any time are always in need of money, you have the drug addicts who are always in need of money to maintain their habits, and I must say thanks to the community at large who have assisted us in this endeavor in the fight against crimes."
