Police Thwart Armed Robbery

Police officers on patrol were on Lizarraga Avenue Wednesday afternoon just in the nick of time to stop a robbery in progress. Customs broker Powell Wilfred Brooks was near his home when he was accosted by two men on one bicycle. They rolled up on him and demanded brooks' cell phone and his briefcase. A nice catch for the criminals but they didn't get far because a police patrol saw the crime in progress, pulled up and nabbed the two robbers. 17-year-old Edwin Flores and 20 year old Edgar Chuc. They have since been charged. We should note that the incident occurred next to a now abandoned police booth on Lizarraga Avenue.
