Ruckus at Hattieville Prison

A stabbing at the Hattieville Prison this afternoon led to an afternoon of uproar at the facility. Despite flaccid denials from prison authorities, 7NEWS has confirmed that this afternoon the police anti drug unit was called into the prison.

It all started around noon when a prisoner Lionel Sampson, who is reportedly in the max section was stabbed. That launched an aggressive and, we are told, brutal security crackdown. Our efforts to get accurate information from prison authorities were rebuffed but first hand reports form within the prison say that security teams are using extreme force to search all sections of the prison.
