10 days ago, 20-year-old Michael Faux was convicted of the 2005 murder of Sydney Bradley. Today, after hearing a mitigation plea, Justice Adolph Lucas decided against the death penalty and sentenced him to life in prison.
In June of 2005, Sydney Bradley was standing in front of his home on West Canal when a gunman on a bike standing on the Berkeley Street Bridge fired about 3 shots in his direction. One of those shots hit Bradley in his chest and he died about 2 hours later while undergoing surgery.
