This morning at around 7:30 police received a report that a dead body was seen on the side of the main road leading into Vista Del Mar. It’s a much trafficked area, and when police got there they found the decomposed body of an adult male of Creole descent. He had been wrapped in a canvass cloth, and left in a drain on the side of the road.
There were no visible signs of violence on the body and an on site post mortem was inconclusive. Still, police strongly suspect foul play and are handling it as a homicide investigation. Because he carried no ID and there was no missing persons report, police were about to bury the body.
But that’s when the family turned up and confirmed that it was 31-year-old Rennick Reneau. They identified him by a tattoo on his arm. According to the family, he had last been seen on Friday. Rennick is the father of one and worked as a messenger at Positive Vibes Radio. His mother had to be informed by telephone as she is in Merida, getting medical treatment.
