American national, 28-year-old Brian Tillett, a resident of Burrell Boom is behind bars after a 13-year-old village girl claims he raped her on October 24. It wasn’t reported until almost two weeks ago, when in the presence of her mother she told police that she was heading home when Tillett – who lives across from the school called her. She claims, he asked her to take some items for a relative. He asked her to come into the house and help and according to the child, that’s when Tillett pulled her into his room and raped her. Tillett is well-known to the child.
When he appeared in court today, before Magistrate Tracy Sosa no plea as taken from Tillett and the court could not offer him bail due to the nature of the offense which now falls under the new amendment which took effect in June of this year. Tillett is due back in court on December 15.
