On Wednesday we told you about a deadly shooting which the commissioner of police chalked up to a quote: "man issue". It happened on Whistling Duck Lane and left 35-year-old Thalia Westby injured and her boyfriend 26-Year-old Ricky Miguel, dead.
And tonight, 22-year-old Leroy Bardalez, has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison on charges of murder and attempted murder, dangerous harm, and deadly means of harm against Westby and Miguel.
Police say that Bardalez also known as "Boots" rode up to the green Ford Escort in which the couple was sitting, pulled out a firearm, and fired several shots towards them. The gunman then rode off on a bicycle.
Bardalez has a charge of attempted murder pending a trial that has already been committed to the Supreme Court. No bail was granted because these are firearm offences. Bardalez is due back in court on November 9, 2020.
He is reportedly a relative of the deceased.
