A 34-year-old woman from the Orange Walk District was shot last night in a strange and currently unexplained incident. Tonight, she's recovering from a gunshot injury to her left wrist.
Lanir Campos, a resident of Avocado Street in the Trial Farm Village, reported to police that at around 11:35 p.m., she went to deliver some food to her female neighbor, who lives on the same street. But, as she arrived in front of her neighbor's home, she heard gunshots and spotted a slender man wearing black clothing, a mask, and a hoodie over his head. He suddenly appeared in front of her and she ran, and that's when she felt a burning pain to her left wrist. Fortunately, she managed to escape without suffering any further injuries.
No else was hurt, and when police canvassed the area for evidence, they found a bullet hole in one of the walls of the house belonging to the neighbor who Campos was attempting to visit. Another was bullet hole was seen on a nearby hotdog cart. Eight expended 380 shells were retrieved on the street side, and reports are that police have detained one suspect.
