Another man died from COVID yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths to 19. And there are concerns at the KHMH because he was in the intensive Care Unit - and not the COVID unit - before he tested positive for COVID 19. During this time, some medical staff fear they may have been exposed. He was on a ventilator but yesterday, his health took a terminal turn for the worst. So far, 13 men have died form COVID 19, compared to just 6 women.
The latest batch of 317 tests came out with 34 more persons, positive for COVID-19, bringing the total since March to 1,399, with 1,020 active cases.
The new case include 3 from the Corozal District: 2 from Patchakan Village, and 1 from Concepcion. There was only one from Orange Walk Town.
In the Belize District, 11 cases were identified: 5 from San Pedro, 1 from Caye Caulker, 3 from Belize City, and 1 from Xaibe Corozal, and 1 more from San Ignacio, who is currently hospitalized at the KHMH.
In the Cayo district, there were 19 new cases: 5 in Belmopan, 4 in San Ignacio Town, 1 in Santa Elena, 7 in Benque Viejo, 1 in San Jose Succotz, and 1 in Camalote Village.
