Tonight, Armado Villanueva, a resident of Santa Rosa Village, Stann Creek and a butcher at the UMAYA resort on the Placencia peninsula is dead due to injuries sustained in a brawl.
Reports are that Armando was beaten by a group of men in a bar some days ago.
His family claims that they've filed a report but say that as of tonight police have made no arrests. And police have also failed to provide any details to the media.
But this morning on the Placencia Peninsula, Daniel Ortiz spoke to the UMAYA resort GM Francis Wagner about the employee he lost.
Wagner didn't know much about the incident but couldn't stop singing the young man's praises; here's that story.

"Armando Villanueva, he is a butcher at our kitchen at the restaurant here, Restaurante Laguna, we have a wonderful restaurant here that he works with. He is a very good employee. The staff loves him, he is honest, dedicated, I can't say as much as I want to about him, because he is one of my best employees when it comes to the restaurant. Recently he started back with us when the resort opened up back around March- February, so he is one of the good employees here and he will be greatly missed."

"How does he handle conflict when it hits? Unfortunately, we all inter-conflicted every so often. How did he handled it as far as you are aware and do you think he will be the type that would engage in any kind of activity to aggravate someone at that bar?"

"If you really know Armando, he is quiet, he is one of the calmest person you would ever come in contact with. He is so cool that he gets along with everybody, he is one of the person with very good personality. I just could say that the staff really missed him. Whatever the situation is that happened to him, the staff here really missed him. Armando is quite and a really nice person."
Additional reports about Armando's death claim that a police officer may have been involved in the brawl. Again, police did not respond to our request for information.
