There was an urban version of flash floods across Belize City today as the first of the October rains fell on drains that have been backed up for months if not years.
Still, some streets prone to flooding escaped that fate this time around showing that while progress against flooding is possible, in Belize City it's not yet universal.

And while some may look to the IDB Drainage project - which focuses on the canal hydraulics, that project is still underway and has not been completed yet.
