Most interesting is the decision to amend the Public Health Act to completely change the structure of the ministry to allow for a Director of Public Health and Wellness as well as a Director of Hospital Services. No word on how this will fit in with the bureaucratically buried Director of Health Services, Dr Marvin Manzanero, or if this change in the law is intended to eliminate the DHS, or make him redundant and give Dr Marvin Manzanero an exit package. We know that this had been proposed to the Ministry of the Public Service before - but it was not approved, according to reports. So, it's unclear if the change in the law is a way to get around this.
