And from Tanga's tragic death to the cruel attack on an elderly man. Earlier this week, we showed you a video of an old man being hit with a baseball bat. The police say they're investigating, but so far have not made any arrests.
But the National Council on Aging has issued a press release, saying, quote, "There is no justifiable reason for any member of society to attack an older person violently and heartlessly." End quote.
They are condemning all acts of violence towards older persons, as well as the passivity of the bystanders who not only witnessed the act but also filmed it. The Council is also calling on the police department to ensure that justice is served and on members of the Belmopan community who may have any information regarding the incident to inform BPD.
Police have not identified the senior citizen; in the video - he is called, Mr Guy.
