Last week, we told you, about an aggravated assault report coming out of Belmopan. The victim, 47-year-old Cornel Young, told police that a man, who he identified by name, hit him several times with a metal bat.
On January 20th, Young was reportedly visiting a home on Kiskadee Street in the Capital City when 38-year-old Edmund John Guy struck him multiple times, including one hit to the head, which caused him to collapse.
After much public outcry, Police tracked down 38-year-old Edmund Guy, aka "Eggy", and arrested and charged him with aggravated assault.
But, when Guy was taken for an arraignment in the Belmopan Magistrate Court today, his accuser, Cornel Young, went before the court and told the magistrate that he did not want to proceed with prosecution. With that, all charges were withdrawn against Guy.
