Taxi Driver Charged For Transporting Illegal Immigrants

And while no one has been charged for the undersized seafood as yet, a taxi driver from Benque is out on bail tonight after he reportedly illegally assisted two Guatemalan Immigrants.

33-year-old Rony Quixchan appeared unrepresented in court and was read a single charge of facilitating the commission of an offence. Quixchan allegedly transported two illegal immigrants, namely Delicia Del Carmen Quixchan Che and Elena Faustina Quixchan, from Benque Viejo Town to the Belize District on April 20th.

Quixchan pled not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same amount. He will be back in court on May 20th.
