And police are also investigating an arson in Corozal. According to Joseph Gronlund, a retired Canadian living in Copperbank Village, just before 11am on Monday, he and his friend, 26-year-old Shenice Lanza, along with her daughter, went to Sarteneja to socialise.
After some time, they left the restaurant and Gronlund claims it was because Lanza began to act disorderly. Before reaching back to the house in Copperbank, though, Lanza reportedly got out of the vehicle and went ahead to Gronlund's home, where she allegedly started to destroy various objects inside.
Not long after, Gronlund noticed flames coming out of the building and saw Lanza crawling on the verandah. With the help of neighbours, they tried to extinguish the fire but several items were destroyed including his bedroom, a 22 foot Jet Boat and trailer valued at $30,000, and household items and clothing valued at $20,000 - all totalling to $100,000. Yesterday, police arrested and charged Lanza for arson.
