And switching gears, a media house is in hot water after airing an alarming interview last night. Said Badi Guerra went on Love News last night to defend his diplomatic colleague, former Ambassador Alexis Rosado. Many viewers - including the Ministry of Human Development, Families, and Indigenous Peoples' Affairs - found Guerra's comments appalling. In the 5 minute news story, he participated in victim blaming and alleged that there was some conspiracy against Rosado.

A release from the Ministry says, quote, "Not only do we believe that such a media appearance was completely incorrect because the associations against Mr Alexis Rosado are now before the court but also several extremely troubling issues arise from Mr Guerra having been afforded that forum." End quote.

The release continues by reminding everyone that there is no statute of limitation on bringing criminal charges against an accused. The ministry found it most troubling that LoveFM and Love Television even facilitated Guerra in his claims and provided a platform to foster a climate of victim blaming.

The release also says that, quote, "Mr Guerra's utterances displayed classic signs of the gender bias that we must all strive to break if our families and our women and children in particular are to be protected." End quote.

The Ministry is now calling on LoveFM and Love Television, along with all other media houses and outlets, to refrain from speculation and to exercise full professional ethics in reporting on cases of sexual abuse.
