And while no one was seriously hurt in that incident, five residents lost their lives in five road traffic incidents over this weekend. The first occurred on Friday night and took the life of a senior citizen.
80-year-old Santa Chun had just arrived home at around 6pm when she was knocked down by her neighbor's vehicle. Courtney Menzies spoke to Chun's son today and has this story.
The matriarch of a Valley of Peace family was killed while walking home on Friday night. 80-year-old Santa Chun was right in front of her gate when a pick up truck, driven by her neighbor, slammed into her.
Chun's son told us that she had just left from his store - which is only one house away - so he didn't believe the news at first.

"I was there in my small store when a guy reached with her necklace and a pound of tortilla which she bought from the shop. So they told me, I have bad news for you, they knocked down your ma, and I can't believe it because she just left by my house to buy her food. So when they gave me the necklace and the tortilla, right there I start to worry maybe it's true. Then a couple minutes after, a next two guys reach, namely Carlo Amaya and Wilfredo Rivas. They took the walking stick and they took the slippers. They say, we brought this for you because they already took your mom to the hospital because they knocked her down."
And it was the driver, 43-year-old Jesus Felipe Galdamez, that rushed her to the hospital.
But it was only about 5 hours later that Chun succumbed to her injuries.

Manuel Sui, Son of Deceased
"Right by the hospital, the man reach there, Jesus reach there and say that he didn't do this the way he wanted, it is accidental. He said he feel hurt too and he don't know how it happened. But at that same time, he just told us that, that he doesn't feel good and he's frightened too. And he hurry left us and drove his vehicle and left us by the hospital. And then after that the doctor called my brother and told him that she passed away."
"It hurts a lot, I still feel it, because my mom loves me. You see, when I drink, I used to drink alcohol, she would worry and now if I drink, nobody would worry about me. Everyday, she's with me, every morning she's with me, because I have a little corn mill. She reaches there all the time, she doesn't like if she doesn't see me, especially my wife. She always come hail us and that hurt me a lot. She left us instant, if it was sickness, I would believe, but she just gone away like that."
And even while this family grieves, their only consolation is that Chun didn't have to suffer through broken bones or being confined to a wheelchair - and that's why they've decided not to hold any grudges:
Manuel Sui, Son of Deceased
"So that's why we came together and said, we'll forgive the man. He'll be our friend because it's our neighbor. Because we understand that the man is not drunk and he didn't do it intentionally so we will forgive the man."
But there is one thing they're asking for - speed bumps on their newly paved road.
Manuel Sui, Son of Deceased
"In this way, like how they're paving the road, they are fixing our road, which is beneficial for us, but the thing is, a lot of crazy drivers and like how the road is smooth, they can go fast and knock anybody, any kids, any elders, anybody animals too. We, right now, we are the first people to get into this problem or sadness. I think we need some speed bumps in this area. If the government could do this for us to protect the people or to protect anything else because it's too dangerous."
Galdamez has since been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and driving without due care and attention.
Chun leaves behind four children, three sons and one daughter.
