Last night on the news, the police communications officer - in discussing a shooting at the corner of La Croix Boulevard and McKenzie Street said shooting victim Jerwin Carcamo was among a group of men socializing in a yard when they came under fire.
Today his mother came to our newsroom to say that's not how it went at all - she says he just went there to drop off a bike:
Mother of: Jerwin Carcamo
"He was never socializing and that is the part that makes me upset, because my son is a minor. If you want to know anything you could have come and ask me or ask my son. Why just get on the news and talk that he was socializing?"

"And you'ere saying this because he is out on bail and it affect the conditions of hios bail>"
Mother of: Jerwin Carcamo
"Yes, he is out on bail and he is supposed to go to court right here Tuesday. This that they put on the news, the first thing my son goes to court, they will revoke his bail, my son is going to jail and my son was a minor and now he turns 18 today, so its a big affect on him."
Reporter
"How is he doing?"
Mother of: Jerwin Carcamo
"Well I just took back to the doctor today, he is doing much better, just pain."
Reporter
"He was shot in the hip?"
Mother of: Jerwin Carcamo
"Yes and it burst through the back."
