At the top of the news, we took you to Dangriga, a town bracing for the worse of hurricane Lisa when it makes landfall tomorrow evening.

But while they are preparing for the storm, Dangriga's Garbutt family is also mourning the brother and son who was brutally shot and killed at around 7:00 pm last night.

Tonight, 44-year-old Henry Garbutt is remembered by them as a helpful and positive person, but one with a history he may have been trying to escape.

Cherisse Halsall spoke off-camera to an eyewitness to his death earlier today.

44-year-old Henry Garbutt also know as "Snow" was cruelly killed last night in his own yard while socializing with friends. According to police, Garbutt and the others were approached from behind by a lone gunman who fired several shots at him.

A friend of Garbutt's says he stood in the distance and saw when the gunman arrive. This morning he told us about hearing distant gunshots and piecing it all together after he had the facts.

Voice Of: Friend
"I only observed from about 150 feet away, I was coming from there and I saw a motorcycle turn from left to right and stop immediately in front of the house and I heard about 7 gunshots go off."

"This morning when I passed sometime between the hours of quarter to 8 I saw two individuals at this street and I just heard when one of them hollered and said dat dah lone pass and I still continue move out and gone bout my business and did my work noh and approximately. After 9 then I got to understand that the boy snow had died."

Garbutt is the second person to meet his end on Gadsby Ramos street in the last three weeks. The first was officer Lorraine Arzu who was shot in the head while parked in front of her home.

And while Arzu enforced the law Garbutt is said to have been a very helpful man most recently engaged in helping his sister build a house but he did have a past.

Voice Of: Friend
"He is a very positive person in life. I don't know him as a trouble man. He had some past from some years a back but I don't think if that was it last night--noh."

"Seems like sometimes somebody used to talk about him hard was some neighbors that he used to often tell me one time that he had some weed stash weh and certain individual had moved it so I don't know if those was the same person who came back and um interfered with him, noh, right."

Garbutt's family couldn't confirm or deny that scenario this morning. His sister Delilah could only tell us about the man she knew him to be and what he'd meant to their family.

Delilah Cardona, Sister Of the Deceased
"We always try to be strong for each other as a family. He was a nice young man I can say that as a sister, yes I can say that but we cannot really say, I'm talking on what the entire family knows. We just see it as you know things like this always happen, we aren't sure what happened actually. We just know that something like this is really hard for the family to deal with but he was a good person."

Cherisse Halsall:
"If you had to hazard a guess why would someone have targeted your brother?"

Delilah Cardona, Sister Of the Deceased
"That is the question that needs to be answered because we are all asking the same question. We don't know why someone did it. We don't know why they would want to do it. We don't really know."

And as our interview was coming to an end Garbutt's mother made her way downstairs to tell our camera's that she doesn't hate his killer and that she is praying for them as well as for her son.

Delilah Cardona, Sister Of the Deceased
"Yes, he kind of. Had his ways, you know all male all human beings have their ways if you would get under their skin, you understand but I don't see the reason for the person whoever he or she is to do it but we just pray for the person indeed. We pray that..."

Garbutt leaves behind two teenaged children.
