Ministry of Finance and Police Mum on Treasury Burglary

Police have not made any arrests and, in fact, haven't even reported, on the burglary of the Dangriga subtreasury, which netted thieves 40 thousand dollars stolen straight from the public purse.

As we told you, thieves got into the building on St. Vincent Street sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning by prying off the burglar bars on the bathroom. The burglars found the metal vault and took the daily proceeds, which is that almost 40 thousand dollars.

Tonight, no arrests have been reported and the level of official priority attached to this burglary seems to be close to nil.
