Tonight a mother is grieving the loss of her 21 year old son. This morning at 2:30, Cory Cruz's body was found by a passerby at the corner of 15th and Baca Street in San Ignacio Town with blunt force trauma injuries to his forehead.
A female was passing by when she saw two men searching Cruz who was unconscious on the ground. She shouted at the pair who ran off and then checked Cruz, saw that he was bleeding from the head and called the police.
Police are calling at a death investigation, but his mother says it's murder:

"I just found out that killed my son. He was everything for me. He was my little partner for any function my son was with me. If I had any problem I would talk to him."
"When he have problems he would, tell me. He go out, yes and maybe come back two, three days. I used to that already. So I really never know that this would happen to him. I talk to him, but you know sometimes they don't listen to you."
"But no matter what, He was my son and I love him. I will really miss my son. because he was there for me all the time."

"My son was murdered. Apparently, they found him in San Ignacio by some open lot."
"I just came from the Belmopan, from identifying the body. And it was my son. But I left everything to God. I no want no revenge, but if they find the person, let the law do its job and punish him."
"But for my part I want peace in my heart. Tomorrow is my birthday, too. And he already had plans - oh, something in my house. But they took him away from me."
The family now has to await a post mortem to determine the cause of death.
