Tonight, 34-year-old Clement Bol Jr. has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal 2014 murder of 16-year-old Wesley Junior College student, Chrislin Gladden. Bol, who was 23 at the time of the crime, must serve at least 25 years before he is eligible for parole.
Gladden was lured to Lord Ridge Cemetery in August 2014, where she was stabbed 32 times. Bol and his then-girlfriend, Ashley Meighan, who was just 17 at the time, were jointly charged and later found guilty of the killing.
But while Bol faced sentencing today before Justice Antoinette Moore, Meighan remains on the run. She absconded on November 30, 2022 - the very day her guilty verdict was to be delivered. For three years, the court delayed sentencing, hoping police would locate her. With no progress, the judge decided to proceed with Bol's sentencing alone.
In court today, Bol, represented by attorney Javier Williams, expressed remorse and offered condolences to Gladden's family. The Crown was represented by Pirsha Staine-Ferguson. Justice Moore considered Bol's social inquiry and psychiatric evaluations before handing down the life sentence.
Ashley Meighan, now believed to be outside the country, remains a fugitive. Authorities continue to seek her capture.
