The family of a Belmopan woman who has been missing since last Friday says they are no longer expecting to find her alive, but they are hoping to at least find her body for closure. Twenty eight year old Deborah Arthurs, a call center employee and mother of one, was last seen on Friday, March twenty seventh at around one in the afternoon in front of La Popular Bakery in Belize City. Witnesses reported seeing Arthurs entering a silver Chevy Equinox before she disappeared. Since then, Arthurs has not answered her phone and has also failed to report to work, something family members say is completely out of character. Relatives told us that while Deborah would occasionally go out, she would always stay in contact with family. According to the family, Arthurs had travelled to Belize City that day to drop off her son at the Water Taxi terminal so he could visit his father in San Pedro. After that, she was expected to return home. Family members stressed that Arthurs is not gang affiliated. However, they acknowledged that in recent months she had been socializing with what they described as the "wrong crowd." A relative shared this video they received with us in which they believe the screaming heard is Arthurs.
Tonight, the family says they are desperate for answers and are appealing to anyone with information that could help them locate Arthurs.
