As the new school year rolls around and teachers across the country begin their classroom prep, many educators are forced to dip into their personal funds to purchase classroom supplies, decorations and stationery for their students. It's a yearly occurrence for teachers across all levels of education, using their salaries to replenish their classrooms each semester with very little financial support from their institutions. Will this tradition continue? or will MOE step in and implement stipends for its educators? Minister Zabaneh told us that they have already devised a partial solution to this fix.
Louis Zabaneh, Minister of State, Ministry of Education
"Well I have Good news for you that for the first time now the ministry has started to work with the BNTu with the management and we've identified these charts that these teachers need. And we know we've heard it ear in ear out that they have to take money out of their own pockets to put these charts up in their classrooms. So for the first time now we are assisting them with these charts so we will be starting with a couple of them like in the first month so that by the time we go throughout the year they will have gotten most of what they need to have in their classrooms."

"So it's only charts, it won't be a stipend?"
Louis Zabaneh, Minister of State, Ministry of Education
"Well since they will not now need to take the money out of their pockets for these and the idea is that when we order in bulk the cost is a fraction of what it would take for them to go and buy retail and have to buy a bristol board and buy magic marker and do that. And now if we go to a proper printing institution that can be done for a low cost and so that's the idea and now the ministry is very pleased to join in and provide some of these charts for our teachers."
