Belize and Cuba Talk Disaster Preparedness

The United States may have Belize under pressure for its Cuban Medical Brigade, but cooperation with the island nation continues in other areas.

Minister of the Public Service and Disaster Risk Management Henry Charles Usher has met with a high-level delegation from the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment during an official visit to Belize from May first to fifth.

The meeting, held in Belmopan, focused on strengthening cooperation between Belize and Cuba in disaster risk management, climate resilience, and technical exchange.

The potential deployment of Cuban technical experts to Belize for training and capacity building was also raised.
