On Friday we told you about Lydia Rodriguez, who was violently hurled from the bed of a pickup truck as she was heading from her home in Guinea Grass to Orange Walk Town. In our report we noted that she was in need of blood for urgent surgeries. Since our report there have been numerous donors however but now there's something else holding up the surgery: there's a standing miscommunication between the blood bank in the districts and here in Belize City. Mother Rosita Pasos explains.
Rosita Pasos,
"For blood, yes, from out-district like Cayo they call and they want to donate, from Orange Walk. From last week Friday I had been called that Mr. Dominguez sponsored up to seven and so far we haven't received any call from Orange Walk explained just now that he called and the phone is busy and he can't just keep trying on the phone because he has other persons to attend to so from here they should come and should call here."
Alfonso Noble,
So people are giving blood but there is miscommunication between the two?
Rosita Pasos,
"Yes that is the problem right now."
