While the bureaucrats re-examine and the politicians posture, the bottom line on Kimorah Leslie is that the little girl would have been two tomorrow. Today, 24 hours after the Director of Health Services concluded his investigation into her death, her family said that, by all rights and reason, they should be preparing for her second birthday tomorrow.
Shaun Lemoth,
"I personally, I don't believe the KHMH did everything to save Kimorah's life because on April 25th when we first took Kimorah to the Emergency Department Department, as we reached there the security Mr. Neal didn't want us to pass, my daughter pass. The nurse knew the baby's problem so they called my daughter to bring the baby and when she got to the back, two doctors were on duty, and my daughter told them the baby was vomiting and she was sick, they told her that they don't have any neurosurgeon and they can't help the baby and then Dr. Fidel Cuellar said good luck but then what I say is we can't rush her ourselves to any private institution. if Kimorah was referred to a private institution it would have had to be the same doctor who tended her in the emergency to refer Kimorah to the private institution because we can't admit her ourselves.
I don't know if I am wrong, but I feel that being the CEO of a hospital, I feel that he should have see to it that the hospital had the things needed and to me they failed me and I am staff and I felt I should have gotten better treatment than that as a staff of KHMH.
I want them to hire the two neurosurgeons back, Dr. Cervantes and Dr. Lara. I don't see nothing wrong in what they did. From Kimorah born, Dr. Lara was doing Kimorah's surgery and I feel that if it was because of Dr. Lara's fault, Kimorah would have died from birth and she lived until she was years until the problems came with money and the doctor and me don't know what all are the crises they had then Kimorah passed on. Personally I don't feel like the doctors should be blamed.
I am sorry it had to take our loved one to make other people benefit but then in a way I feel good. All I want them to do is hire the neurosurgeons because the hospital cannot do without neurosurgeons. We have a lot of people punishing who need neurosurgeons so let them put their problems behind them and stop let poor people punish in this country."
