And, another government department is not waiting for a walkout - they are coming up front with full disclosure and action.
A release from the Belize Postal Service says that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 at their Orange Walk Police Office branch which has interrupted normal services this week.
A release says staff members who came in direct contact with the COVID-positive co-worker were notified, and arrangements have been made for them to be tested. They have also been advised to not report to work, and to self-isolate at home until they have received a negative test result.
The release adds that a certified fumigation and sanitation company were acquired to accommodate the sanitization and deep cleaning of the Orange Walk post office building. That process was completed yesterday, and it is ready for use. But, the Post office will re-open tomorrow.
