But correlation is not causation and there is no evidence that the vaccine played a part in the baby's death until the postmortem is done. But the police do corroborate the father's retelling of the events that the infant had just gotten her vaccine shot before she died. Here is how ACP Joseph Myvett explained it.

"I do not have the specifics other than to say that the baby was taken to the northern regional hospital, I believe late last night he was found motionless, the baby was said to have been, to have received two injections at a village health center. I believe it was Friday and ever since then the baby was not well so when the baby's mother went to check on him, I believe it was late last night she found the baby motionless and as a result, the baby was transported to the northern regional hospital. It would have been to receive some sort of injection, probably a vaccine or vaccination."

"Sir but what I'm saying the mother says that the child has not felt well since, did she take that child to the hospital after taking the vaccine to say well at least I took her."

"It is normal that when a child receives their first vaccine it is followed by a bout of fever or whatever and that seems to have been the case."
We reached out to authorities from the ministry of health and the northern region for comment but got nothing.
