Taiwan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, James Huang is in Belize tonight. His one day, one-night visit has not been officially announced, and the purpose of the trip is not known.
Huang had meetings with his Belizean counterpart Eamon Courtenay today, and is also expected to have discussions with the Prime Minister. What we do know is that the administration of President Chen Shui-bian continues to remain under extreme domestic pressure due to corruption scandals - and under international pressures as Red China has been on a crusade to gobble up its allies, particularly on the African continent. There are also reports that the new Ortega government in Nicaragua may be breaking away from Taiwan.
