Moody also gave us an update on the Sarteneja Corozal road - an infrastructure mega project funded by the Taiwanese that's behind schedule - but a month away from completion:
Evondale Moody, Chief Engineer - MIDH
"In terms of delays, yes, we have had delays in terms of weather and also we've had some sort of delays as well based on the ground condition, especially on section one. Section one is a section from Corazal towards Pueblo Nuevo Bridge."
"That's an area that is always susceptible to flooding because of the marsh ground condition. And so we have had some delays there, whereby we had settlement on the pavement that we had to correct. We've also had delays because of contractors' equipment and so forth and so that basically are the three reasons and rationale as to why we've had some delays with the project in getting it completed. However, as I said to date, we are substantially completed in terms of percentage."

"We are around 94, 95 percent with only minor remedial works left on the Pueblo Nuevo Bridge and also road furniture that we have to install, which includes line marking, and also guard reels."
"However, we expect that those will be completed by the end of October. And so we expect to have an inauguration for that project in early November, thereabout."
Later on in the news we'll have an update on the national assembly renovation.
