And while the country gears up for elections tomorrow, area rep for Cayo North, Michel Chebat, is confident that after 15 years of seeing red, the blue wave will be triumphant in the twin towns. And while the towns have been a UDP stronghold for 18 years, Chebat said it's time for a much-needed change.
Hon Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness
"I think the time has come for a new town council to take over San Ignacio. We've had 15 years of the UDP and I think the town needs some rejuvenation, it needs new leadership and I am hopeful that the people come out tomorrow and support the PUP team."
"With every consecutive term the gap becomes wider so people who are in position for so long become complacent and they forget that their duty is to serve the people so I am fairly confident that tomorrow we will see a change in the twin towns."
