And Henry also responded to the PM's comment from yesterday. You may recall PM Briceno saying that the unions seem genuine during the meetings, making the government side feel like they're on the same page. But then when they speak to their membership, by the PM's assessment, they start to waffle. Henry says that it's the other way around, and it's the government that has built mistrust among the union members.

Gerald Henry, President, PSU

"We always take whatever new comes up back to membership even if it is one word that would be change we always take that to membership for them to let us know if they are comfortable if that's what they want and then we go back again so for us all we are doing is just like I said, bringing the voice of membership to those meetings but the information that is coming out of those meetings from someone from the government side and you guys are right here to hear when Minister Chebat said that they offered for the frontline nurses or persons in the medical area to be exempted, that never ever came up so where they get those information from, I honestly do not know and those are some of the things that continuously breaks down the trust level, not only from us within the room towards the government, but from our membership towards the government, they think they are making the distrust happening, initially it was, the distrust was being caused from membership to us as leaders but when membership realized that no we are saying the truth, we are coming back to you guys and making sure you know every single thing, the distrust shift towards the politicians."
