Last week we brought you Cherisse Halsall's interview with Mayor Bernard Wagner, a dive into the reshuffle at City Hall and the councilors who the mayor said hadn't been pulling their weight.

That list didn't include councilor Kaya Cattouse whose good works and successes in the city saw her rewarded with a new portfolio, one that could be called the most important, that of sanitation.

But during the interview with Wagner, our reporter questioned his rationale for giving that portfolio to a counselor who was busy with a new pro-athlete contract and who had told the Press that she would not be seeking election.

The only problem with that question is that councilor Cattouse never said it. She called us to complain about the inference we made from a statement in a December Press conference. And so in the interest of clarity, we unreservedly retract the claim that Cattouse would not seek re-election.

Here's what the councilor now responsible for sanitation actually said:

Kaya Cattouse, City Councilor
"Well of course initially for the first three years because of my commitment at the council, I will not be moving perse, to live anywhere other than Belize, however, racing professionally is a huge step up. I mean when you talk about sports and professional athletes, I am sure that that tells you exactly the calibre of competition and the calibre of athletes that you will be competing against."

Via text, the councilor noted that her current L.A. sweat contract has a duration of one year.
