And while Barrow is trying to make the best of a very bad situation for him - where he campaigned for the losing candidate and tried to get the winner arrested before the convention….he also has other problems within the UDP. Amongst his standard bearers and executive, the Party Leader stands almost completely isolated in his support of the Briceno Administration's agreement with the US to accept and settle a convicted terrorist who the Americans say has been de-radicalized.

Party Chairman Mike Peyrefitte who's usually on the same page with his leader struck a very different chord on this one. We asked him today if they will harmonize again soon. He didn't seem hopeful:

Jules Vasquez
"Will you be speaking with your leader so that your differences of opinion on Majid Khan can be reconciled. You all have expressed vastly different views on it."

Mike Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman
"Well, we are the united, but democratic party. He has his view, I have my view and that's it. There is nothing to discuss. It's a mute point any way. It's not like the government is going to reverse it."
