And from Duck Run - to "don't run" - the story of the San Pedro mayor who is not being allowed to challenge his party area rep. Earlier this week, Wally Nunez got the message from his party executive that he will not be allowed to challenge current area rep Andre Perez for the post of divisional standard bearer.

In a Zoom interview yesterday, Perez said he didn't lose much sleep worrying about a challenge:

Andre Perez, Belize Rural South Rep
"I never lost any sleep over it. I mostly focused myself on my work. The job that I do. 11,000 constituents. Caye Caulker San Pedro. So I see it. And that has been a hallmark of my character, not only being here as in government, but to work with each and everyone that is there in government to work with whether it's any municipality."

"And that is that is my work. That's what we do. So it's not about challenges or if when it them come, it should be I'm ready for it. The work has been done and I'm comfortable and I will of the people that I engage with every day."
